Radiator Problems
Cold radiators, radiators cold at the top or bottom, banging pipes, leaking valves. All common, all fixable, and all worth sorting before the cold weather really sets in.
Cold at the top
That is air in the system and it usually just needs bleeding. If it keeps coming back after bleeding, air is getting in somewhere and that needs finding rather than repeating the same job every month.
Cold at the bottom
That is sludge. Years of corrosion settle in the bottom of radiators and block the flow. A power flush clears the system, or in bad cases individual radiators come off and get flushed out properly.
Some rooms hot, some cold
That is usually balancing. The radiators nearest the boiler take all the flow and the far ones get nothing. Balancing the system costs nothing in parts and makes a real difference to how the house heats.
Leaks and valve replacement
Leaking valves and rotted radiators are common in older Sligo houses. We replace valves, replace radiators, and move them where a room has been changed around.
New radiators
We supply and fit, or fit what you have bought. Sizing matters more than most people think and we will tell you if what you have will not heat the room.
